‘Fantastic’ pet food drive helps struggling military veterans in Calgary – Calgary

There’s a new effort underway to support struggling military veterans in Calgary and their four-legged friends.

MOMMS Premium Pet Foods is holding a pre-Remembrance Day pet food drive at its store in the Lake Bonavista neighborhood in southeast Calgary.

The store is turning over the donations it collects to the Veterans Association Food Bank (VAFB), which provides food to both veterans and their pets.

Hill’s Pet Nutrition made up 22% of parent company Colgate-Palmolive’s sales in the second quarter of 2023. The United States and European pet food markets led Hill’s organic sales growth, this was partially offset by organic sales declines in Australia. Continuing a trend from previous period, Hill’s Pet Nutrition sales increased in the second quarter while profitability decreased in comparison to 2022.

Pet food pantry to open along Sullivan Road

CENTRAL – A new pet pantry aimed at helping pet owners is coming to Sullivan Road.

In 2023, the Companion Animal Alliance took in more than 9,000 animals and over 1,000 of them were owner surrenders. CAA said 166 of the owner surrenders were due to financial hardships.

Consumers allege Purina products behind pet illnesses/deaths – eFoodAlert

Dozens of pet owners have posted reports on social media about their dogs and cats falling sick after eating a Purina Pro Plan pet food.

As of January 4, 2024, the public Facebook group, Saving Pets One Pet @ A Timehas received 197 anecdotal reports of sick animals, including 151 dogs and 46 cats.

Fifty-one (51) animals have died.
